VIRTUO and TPG Unveil Beehives at V.PARK Montchanin (71)

A low-carbon logistics platform of more than 50,000 sq m currently under construction, with completion scheduled for Q1 2027, at the heart of the leading industrial hub between Paris and Lyon.

Grégory Loësel, Development Director and Partner at VIRTUO INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY, together with representatives of TPG, officially inaugurated the installation of beehives at V.PARK Montchanin (71), in the presence of Dominique Jouanne, Mayor of Torcy, Isabelle Louis, President of the Creusot Montceau Urban Community, as well as numerous institutional, economic and technical stakeholders involved in the project.

This inauguration marks a new milestone in the development of V.PARK Montchanin, a next-generation logistics platform currently under construction within the Coriolis business park, in the immediate vicinity of the Creusot-Montceau TGV station. Beyond its symbolic significance, the installation of these beehives reflects the partners’ commitment to integrating biodiversity considerations from the earliest stages of the construction process and to supporting the long-term return of nature to the site.

Carried out in partnership with the French National Beekeeping Union (UNAF), this initiative forms part of a broader environmental strategy implemented by VIRTUO INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY across its developments. The beehives will help support pollinator populations while also raising awareness among stakeholders of the importance of preserving local ecosystems. This initiative complements the many biodiversity-friendly features planned for the site.

Developed through the joint venture between VIRTUO and TPG via Intervest, V.PARK Montchanin will ultimately comprise a flexible logistics platform featuring four units of approximately 12,000 sq m each together with two office buildings. The scheme will deliver more than 50,000 sq m of logistics space and benefits from a strategic location between Paris and Lyon, with direct access to the RCEA trunk road network, the A6 motorway and the Creusot-Montceau TGV station. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The development targets BREEAM Excellent certification and incorporates numerous low-carbon solutions, including the use of timber in construction, the reuse of selected technical equipment, rainwater harvesting systems, water-efficient installations and the replacement of gas heating with electric solutions. The project also includes several biodiversity-enhancing features, including the installation of beehives.

" The installation of these beehives at Montchanin reflects a strong conviction at Virtuo: a project's environmental performance goes beyond the building itself. It also lies in our ability to foster biodiversity and create more resilient sites. This initiative is fully aligned with the ambition behind V.PARK Montchanin, a next-generation logistics development designed to combine operational efficiency, environmental excellence and a strong connection to the local area. "
