In Metz, Virtuo and Alteo take part in the creation of I²L, a new engineering school dedicated to smart, sustainable logistics and the engineers of the future.

A new engineering school dedicated to smart and sustainable logistics
On September 30, 2025, the city of Metz celebrated the inauguration of the Institute for Innovation in Logistics (I²L) — a next-generation engineering school focused on smart logistics, sustainability, and complex systems engineering.
Virtuo Industrial Property and Alteo Investment Management, both founding members of the project, attended the event to mark the birth of this visionary institution — a symbol of the transformation underway in the logistics sector.
Training the engineers of the future
Faced with the major challenges of ecological and digital transitions, I²L addresses the growing need for new skills in logistics engineering.
Born from a partnership between academic, industrial, and institutional stakeholders, the school’s mission is to train engineers capable of designing sustainable, automated, and resilient supply chains using the most advanced digital technologies.

An exceptional patron: Bernard Charlès, Chairman of Dassault Systèmes
The inauguration was held under the distinguished patronage of Bernard CHARLÈS, Chairman of Dassault Systèmes, and a pioneer of the digital twin concept.
His presence in Metz underscores the strong link between innovation, industry, and education, which lies at the very heart of I²L’s mission.
Through Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE® platform, I²L students will be able to model and optimize complex logistics systems — a concrete demonstration of how virtual technologies can enhance real-world performance and sustainability.
A school rooted in its territory
Located in the heart of the Metz Technology Park, I²L offers an ideal environment for innovation and collaboration between research and industry.
Accredited by the French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), the school launched in September 2025 with a wide academic offering, including:
Two Bachelor programs: Procurement and Energy Management
An Engineering cycle in “Global Intelligent Logistics”
An MBA in “Logistics, Procurement, and Industry Management”
This new campus of excellence aims to become a European hub for Logistics 5.0, combining data science, artificial intelligence, and sustainable engineering.

Virtuo IP and Alteo IM : committed partners for responsible logistics
As founding members of the Institute, Virtuo Industrial Property and Alteo Investment Management reaffirm their shared commitment to building a more sustainable, human-centered, and innovative logistics sector.
Both companies share a conviction: economic and environmental performance are no longer opposites — they are mutually reinforcing.

A united ecosystem shaping the logistics of tomorrow
The inauguration brought together numerous figures from academia, industry, and public institutions, including:
François Grosdidier, President of Metz Eurometropolis and Mayor of Metz
Nidhal Rezg, Director of I²L
Jean-Paul Dastillung, Vice President of the Moselle Department
Mohamed Larbi Rouis, CEO of Leoni Tunisia
Grégory Blouin, President of Virtuo Industrial Property
The event concluded with a special broadcast on Moselle TV, produced in partnership with La Semaine, exploring a central question : “What is the purpose and future role of a new-generation engineering school?”.
